Dr. Tammy Lewis Wilborn, PhD, M.Div.

As a preacher, teacher, and leader, God has anointed Dr. Tammy Lewis Wilborn with gifts, skills, and talent to help God's people be well, whole, and free. Pastor Wilborn (she/her) is a retired board-certified licensed professional counselor-supervisor with over 20 years of experience. Pastor Wilborn has owned and managed a private mental health practice, served as a counselor educator at the University of New Orleans and Xavier University of Louisiana, and founded the annual Black Women’s Wellness Conference of New Orleans (2015-2022). Pastor Wilborn is also a published author of her debut book entitled Playing A New Game: A Black Woman’s Guide to Being Well and Thriving in the Workplace which expands the dialogue on Black women’s experiences of race and gender stereotypes at work as a wellness issue and provides best practices that promote self-care and self-empowerment as necessary tools for professional success.

Pastor Wilborn holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, an M.Div. from Vanderbilt Divinity School, an M.S. in Counseling, and a B.A. in Psychology from Loyola University of New Orleans. She is also a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans' Women’s Leadership Academy.

Pastor Wilborn serves as an executive member of the national setting of the UCC Wellness Ministries and a board member for Vandy Wesley. She holds active memberships in the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature. Pastor Wilborn is married and the mother of three sons.
